Wavoo Wajeeha Women’s College has established writer’s forum in order to bring to light the talents of the budding writers and introduce them to the world of writing. It invites creative works represented in the form of writing, paintings, arts, or any other projections of literary or critical value. The forum proposes to publish a manuscript and for which invites essays and short stories and useful tips. Such collected contributions will be recommended for inclusion in the manuscript magazine run by the forum. Also the forum conducts periodically writing competitions in Tamil and English languages. The literary club is a paradise for thinkers, readers, and writers. It is the place where students are free to think, read and write on the topics of their interest and choice. The club is also a forum where students share their insights on politics, philosophy, spirituality, philanthropy etc.

Deeply rooted in the liberal arts and committed to diversity and social justice, the Department of Writing fosters clear expression, intellectual growth, and creative and critical thinking through active, student-centered writing instruction at all levels. we provide students in all disciplines the foundation to think and to write critically. Our minor allows majors in departments across campus to develop their interests and talents in writing. Our major, distinctive for the breadth and depth of its curriculum, combines theory and practice, encourages aesthetic appreciation of writing in all its forms, challenges traditional notions of genre, and promotes student writing that is creative, self-reflective, critically astute, and socially conscious.
